TERRE HAUTE Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Tuesday evening, Indiana State University and Vigo County’s Entrepreneurship Committee hosted its regional pitch competition at the Vigo County History Museum.
More than 20 students from ISU, Rose-Hulman, Saint Mary’s of the Woods, Ivy Tech, Indiana University, Terre Haute North High School, and Sullivan High School participated in this year’s event. Those students had to submit a 3 to 5 minute pitch about a new or existing business.
Then nine of those students were chosen to be featured in the final pitch competition, this evening. They competed for cash prizes of either $1,000, $750, or $500.
“Gen Z and Gen Alpha are amazing when it comes to creativity and their passion for entrepreneurship. And especially in a state like Indiana where entrepreneurship is so encouraged and incentivize. It’s really exciting to see what these students come in with,” Assistant Director of Business Engagement at ISU John Lotz said.
After the pitch competition, students got to explore a variety of products and services created by talented student entrepreneurs at the Seed Expo and Student Market.
