VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A single-vehicle accident on Interstate 70 Sunday evening sent one person to the hospital and criminal charges were filed.
Just before 5 p.m. Sunday Indiana State Police Trooper Gerald Stump of the Putnamville State Police Post responded to a single-vehicle accident at the nine-mile marker on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70.
According to a media release, the preliminary crash investigation revealed that 47-year-old Bradley Estes of Greencastle, IN, was allegedly cut off in traffic while driving his motorcycle.
According to the release, Estes oversteered, veered off the roadway, and struck a barrier wall. He came to an immediate stop and his motorcycle became disabled.
Further investigation by Trooper Stump determined that Estes displayed signs of impairment and a blood alcohol content of .31%.
Estes was transported to a local hospital for immediate medical care due to injuries from the crash. Trooper Stump filed a criminal report with the Vigo County Prosecutor’s Office and Estes will be given a court date to appear later for the following pending charges:
- Bradley Estes, 47, Greencastle, IN
- Operating a vehicle with a BAC .15 or more, Class A Misdemeanor
- Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Endangering a Person, Class C Misdemeanor
