JASONVILLE, Ind. (WTWO-WAWV) — UPDATE: After speaking with the State Fire Marshall, the cause of the fire was found to be a man living in the apartment that was smoking while on oxygen. The man in question was injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.
A fire in an apartment building forces residents to safety. It happened Monday evening at the Shakamak apartments in Jasonville.
Mike Duckworth, the Asst. Fire chief of Jasonville, says one apartment was totaled and another apartment was partially damaged. There were no injuries, and he says all were transported to different locations
The State Fire Marshall will investigate.
