TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Local and state police will have extra patrols for the holiday season.
Indiana State Police Public Information Officer Sgt. Matt Ames says that they will be looking for several things, such as aggressive drivers, people texting and driving, and drivers under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Ames says that it is crucial to have a plan to get home before you go have fun.
“It’s better to be spending Thanksgiving dinner at noon with your family versus at the jail cell and your mom and dad or your grandparents have to go and bond you out of the local jail facility,” Ames said. “Make sure you are making good sound decisions before you go out, so that way you can get home safely, and that way you can enjoy turkey at home.”
Ames says the patrols will last from November 16 to December 20.
