TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)—The Terre Haute Police Department has made two arrests in connection to a series of burglaries on the north side of Terre Haute.
According to a post on their Facebook page, THPD’s Property Crime Detectives made two arrests in a series of burglaries they were investigating. The perpetrators were targeting hair salons, vape shops, tow yards, and stores in the Plaza North area of Terre Haute during the week of November 4. Detectives developed key information that led to the arrests of two individuals suspected of the crimes.
23-year-old Corey R. Peters of Terre Haute was arrested and faces preliminary charges of burglary, theft, criminal mischief, and auto theft. A 17-year-old was also arrested and charged with the same four charges.
While officers were executing a search warrant to arrest one of the suspects in a home on the north side of Terre Haute, another individual with outstanding warrants for methamphetamine was discovered trying to hide inside the basement walls. Officers with the Indiana State Police’s K9 Unit helped with the arrest and the suspect surrendered with no incident. 51-year-old Ruben F. Floyd of Terre Haute was arrested on an outstanding warrant for possession of methamphetamine with a prior dealing conviction.
