TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – You can purchase original art while supporting the Swope Art Museum during a fundraiser later this month.
The museum will hold a fundraiser called The Big Deal on November 16. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door.
Attendees will be assigned a number and when their number is called, they can select an art piece to buy for $99. After two rounds of buying, any remaining pieces will decrease in price.
Sara McCarthy is the Assistant Director for Development at the museum. She said all of the art for this fundraiser was donated. She added the funds raised will support the Swope, which is a free art museum.
“We have some pieces from Catherine Knight, Fran Lattanzio, a lot of local artists and I think there’s something for everybody’s collection,” said McCarthy.
