TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— A collision occurred Thursday around 9 p.m. between a SUV and a Greyhound bus that led to the entrapment of the SUV driver.
According to a crash report provided by the Terre Haute Police Department, a 72-year-old woman was driving the SUV traveling northbound on 9th Street in the right lane when she reached the intersection at Wabash Avenue. At that point, THPD reported that the SUV driver became confused and got lost. The driver then decided to take a left-hand turn in the right lane and struck the front bumper of the Passenger Coach bus. The SUV driver was trapped in the vehicle.
The SUV driver sustained no injuries but heavy damage was done to the driver’s side door and the SUV had to be towed, the bus sustained minimal damage. The bus driver sustained no injuries but three of the passengers were taken to the hospital with one passenger complaining of pain in their leg and two others with pain in their pelvis and abdomen.
