PARIS, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) – A local hospital offers a grief support group for people who may struggle during the holiday season.
Horizon Health offers a group program called Coping with Grief During the Holidays.
The group helps people who are struggling to process their grief by connecting them with others who are grieving as well.
“Remind yourself that grief is universal, that other people are going through this as well, that you don’t have to navigate it alone and that there connections there, and that there are people there that will support you,” said Mandi Jeffries, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor at Horizon Health.
The group will meet on Thursdays from November 14 to January 2, from 2pm to 3pm, at the Horizon Health main campus in Paris. The group will not meet on Thanksgiving Day.
The support group is free and is for people ages 18 and older.
