TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Central Wabash Valley Building & Construction Trades Council has donated $4,000 to the United Way of the Wabash Valley.
Mari Jackson, United Way of the Wabash Valley Development Director, stated, “This partnership demonstrates the power of working together to uplift our community, and their support will
help us continue to address the needs of local individuals and families across the Wabash Valley. On behalf of those we serve, we extend our heartfelt thanks for their commitment to United
Way and helping strengthen our vital community programs.”
The council was able to raise funds through its third annual Sporting Clays Classic event that brought many partners in the community together for a day of fun and giving back. The council said they wouldn’t have been able to make the contribution without several key sponsors for the event. These sponsors included Harmon Steel, Misco Enterprises, the Vigo County Democratic Party, and the Wabash Valley Chapter of the Southern Indiana Area Labor Federation.
Joe Bolk, Business Manager of the Indiana Laborers Local 204, explained, “Every year we look to donate the money raised from this event to an organization that is working locally. This year we
chose United Way of the Wabash Valley because our organization wants to create a better Wabash Valley for everyone, and we believe in the work that United Way is doing to help local families that are struggling. This donation is our way of helping them to improve our community.”
