ELNORA, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The North Daviess School Corporation received two of the possible three badges from the Indiana Grown for Schools Recognition Program.
Only five Indiana schools have received at least one badge for the program but North Daviess is the first to receive two. The corporation says it expects to earn the third by the end of the school year.
The two badges received by the school were the “Farm Friendly School” badge and the “Eat Smart School” badge. The first badge was received because of the school’s decision to serve local foods at least twice a month. The second badge was awarded due to the school including at least two required programs in nutrition and agriculture education that count toward graduation.
