TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Terre Haute Library 12 Points Branch has unveiled three new sculptures inspired by a local kid’s drawings.
The five-foot metal sculptures are inspired by a series of colorful monsters drawn by VCSC student Harry Bennett, at the age of just 4.
His mother Emily Bennett, with the help of the Indiana Art Commission, brought these sculptures from the page to real life.
“I’m really proud of him no matter what he does, but these monsters I thought were just something special. We do drive by every day and he’s been like ‘Are my monsters up yet at the monster library?’ So, he has been excited but as of you know, he’s onto the next thing,” says Bennett
She also adds that this was a whole family project, as Harry’s dad Paul, is the one who took the drawings and created blueprints for them to be manufactured.
