TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — We are now less than a week away from Election Day.
Vigo County Election Supervisor Elizabeth Stiverson said they are thrilled with early voting turnout. As of Wednesday, 19,750 people have voted early which is 28 percent of registered voters in the county.
She says that no matter when and how you vote, expect to wait and be patient with the workers.
“We just ask that you be patient with us as we expect to have lines, but that is a good thing because we want this large turnout that we are seeing,” said Stiverson. “Whether you are voting early or on election day, be patient with us, we will get you through as fast as we possibly can, and we are ecstatic with the turnout that we have seen.”
She added that the only voting center open the day before Election Day is the Vigo County Annex from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
