FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Monday is National First Responders Day.
It gives people the chance to thank first responders and appreciate those who put their lives on the line every day to help keep our communities safe. Indiana State Police Public Information Officer Sgt. Matt Ames said little acts of appreciation go a long way.
He added that it’s always nice to know the public cares and is on their side.
“We will sit there as troopers and say that is really awesome that they are willing to do that for us,” said Ames. “It gives us a lot of time to reflect on what we are doing out here on a daily basis, but it also lets us know that the public has support for us.”
In recognition of National First Responders Day, Good Samaritan in Vincennes will host a screening of the documentary “Honorable but Broken: EMS in Crisis” tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Charles C. Hedde Health Education Center.
