CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Clay Community Parks Association is working towards connecting the county to the community.
At Tuesday night’s meeting, the community members engaged with maps of Clay County to show where they think would be the best place for a bike or pedestrian trail. The discussion included trails connecting to surrounding areas, schools, and parks.
These meetings are open to the public and are held at the Brazil YMCA on the fourth Monday of the month.
Member Craig Johnson said these trails will benefit the community and its members.
“Health wise it improves, safety, and then finally people wanna live in a community where there’s access to good schools, good parks, and a good bike system.”
The association hopes to have a trail system plan set by December, so it can be presented to the Clay County Commissioners. To stay updated on that plan, you can visit the Clay Community Bike Trails’ Facebook page.
