GREENCASTLE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Indiana State Police are participating in National Drug Take Back at the Putnamville Post.
According to a post on x, ON October 26 you can bring your expired or unused prescription drugs to the Indiana State Police Putnamville Post at 1927 West US 40 in Greencastle. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is accepting liquid and pill medications, vaping pens without batteries, and vaping cartridges. Needles however will not be taken.
The service is free and anonymous. The initiative seeks to prevent prescription drug abuse and theft through proper disposal. According to a news release from ISP, rates of prescription drug abuse and accidental poisonings and overdoses are alarmingly high in the United States.
