TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— As Halloween creeps closer, the Terre Haute Parks and Recreation Department have started their annual Halloween events.
To kick off these events, they hosted their 6th annual trunk or treat at Deming Park Thursday evening. Families came dressed in costumes and visited each trunk to receive candy.
The next event will be their Un-Haunted Halloween Happenings, which is also at the park. This scare-free event is for children and will have pumpkin painting, hayrides, and more. It’s happening this October 18 and 19, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Student from Terre Town Jackson Thomas was passing out candy in his Five Nights at Freddy’s costume.
“Probably be handing out candy and stealing some from over there,” Thomas said.
“Tell me what your dressed up as,” Videographer Zukokas said. “Nightmare Bonnie,” Thomas said. “So, what made you want to dress up as that?”, Videographer Zukokas asked. “Probably because I just like playing Five nights at Freddy’s,” he said.
The Parks Department will also be hosting a spookier event at Deming. Haunted Happenings will be on October 25 and 26, from 7 to 10 p.m. There will be hay rides, food vendors, and scare actors.
