ROCKVILLE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Preparations are underway for what is known as Indiana’s largest festival.
The Parke Co. Covered Bridge Festival is set to return on October 11. It will feature nine different locations, each offering a variety of local vendors selling various goods and festival food. Longtime vendor Jim Meece says that the variety of people and items continues to grow.
“A lot of old folks or retired folks who see a chance to make a few things, but we also have a lot of young people now beginning to make their own wares as well, so it’s exciting to see,” Meece said. “When you come to the Covered Bridge Festival, you’re going to find a lot of the standard stuff and markets, that kind of thing, but especially here in Rockville, you’ve got a real opportunity to see a lot of local vendors who make their own things and have for years and years offer those things for sale.”
