TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Thursday morning local officials ran a public election test to prepare for the upcoming November election.
This test allowed the public and election officials on hand to see how to properly work the election equipment. Vigo County Election Supervisor Elizabeth Stiverson said you can never be too prepared for an election.
“It is important that the public is able to be invited in case they do have any questions or concerns because this is a great opportunity for them to ask those questions and see how the machines work before election day or early voting when they go to vote,” said Stiverson.
Stiverson said that it is important to note that if you do a straight party ticket it will not automatically select the county council or school board races. She said that they can’t wait to see everyone come out and vote on this very important election.
“We are super excited that things are getting ready to kick off on Tuesday and we expect a fantastic turnout,” said Stiverson. “We look forward to seeing everyone at the poles.”
A reminder that early voting begins this coming Tuesday as location will be open at the Haute City Center, Meadows Shopping Center, and the Vigo County Annex.
