CORY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Even with the rain, Sunday drew the biggest crowd of the weekend at the Cory Apple Festival.
The event is put on every year by the Cory Fire Department.
Of course there are fresh apples, but the fields were also full of food vendors, classic cars, and the annual parade.
All the money raised from the weekend goes to the fire department to fund their day-to-day operations. However, the fire department says the money doesn’t only benefit them, but the entire community.
All the funds go to the fire department, so that helps us be able to upgrade equipment and hoping to upgrade buildings here before too long. Then that benefits the whole community, so it benefits everybody.

The fire department says despite Friday being a rainout and Saturday having a limited number of people, Sunday’s turnout made the festival a success.
