SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) โ Copia Power is developing a 1200 mega-watt project in Sullivan County.
The project will be located in Gill and Haddon townships.
Copia has over 9,000 acres leased, investing around $1.5 billion into Sullivan County.
Wednesday, the development manager and a lawyer were at Sullivan Courthouse to explain their project in detail and answer questions from the public.
With an investment this size, it will really increase the assessed value here in Sullivan County. It is adding a lot of tax base, without adding a lot of tax drains. They are really just a silent generator here, so all of that assessed value means that budgets here can increase. There will be more money for schools and for fire departments, as well as just for road maintenance and other county initiatives.

Copia Power plans to begin construction on phase I in the summer of 2028 and have all four phases operational by mid-2031.
