(WTWO/WAWV) — One person is dead following a vehicle accident that happened in Greene County on Saturday morning.
According to a news release from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, the accident happened at South County Road 800 West, north of County Road 300 South in Greene County on Saturday morning just after 11 a.m.
A 2004 Dodge Ram, driven by William Kaho of Lyons, was pulling out of an access road after making a U-turn. Kaho then turned left onto northbound County Road 800 West when the driver’s view was partially blocked by high vegetation. Kaho did not see an oncoming motorcycle heading north.
The Dodge Ram driven by Kaho was halfway across County Road 800 West before noticing a 2011 Suzuki GSX operated by Maverick Johnson (24) of Lyons was heading south towards him.
Kaho attempted to back up, and Johnson attempted to maneuver around the Dodge Ram before striking the passenger corner, and Johnson being ejected as a result.
Johnson was pronounced deceased at the scene. Kaho did not sustain any injuries on the scene.
The accident is an ongoing investigation by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and Indiana State Police.
