UPDATE: Terre Haute Police now say Monday morning’s threat to City Hall was received by email. In a post to social media, police said the email “mentioned the possibility of a bomb inside of City Hall.”
The email was generic in nature and was sent to multiple law enforcement agencies across the state. Other organizations also reported receiving this email.
Detective Loudermilk said they take every threat like this very seriously.
“We are going to continue to look into this as we take all threats very seriously no matter what level we believe they actually impose as a threat; we take them very seriously,” he said.
THPD responded and deemed the building safe for employees. THPD has increased security at City Hall until further notice.
