TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology received a $30.5 million grant from the Lilly Endowment.
The gift is the largest that the institution has ever received. It features several projects, including the development of innovation grove. The building will be located at the corner of SR-46 and SR-42, and RHIT president Rob Coons says that it will serve as the new home for “Rose-Hulman Ventures”, which gives new opportunities to students.
“That will allow more of our students to have access to Rose-Hulman Ventures and the activities that happen there during the academic year,” Coons said. “We have a number of students that intern there as well during the summer. We’re really excited about the opportunity to have that on campus. It creates easier access and also access for our faculty.”
The total investment now stands at $102 million, and a ground breaking is scheduled for October 3.
