TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– Saturday, Second Missionary Baptist Church in Terre Haute is having its friends and family weekend.
The church puts on the event every year. It’s open to the whole community. There will be free food, a d-j, games and more. They will also be giving away 150 backpacks filled with school supplies to kids in the community.
Organizers said this event is a way for the church to show their love to the community.
“We just want to give back to the community because us being Christians is very important for us to show the love of Christ first and to also minister to those in the community that may not have the resources or the funds to get school supplies,” said Mika Brown with the Music Ministry at Second Missionary Baptist Church.
The event is Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church located at 1400 Oak Street in Terre Haute.
