TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – America’s Got Talent “Golden Buzzer” winner is about to head back to Hollywood for the live rounds of the competition and hopefully win the $1 million grand prize.
“Indiana got behind him, America got behind him, the world saw him. His talent is amazing and his genuine reaction to getting the “Golden Buzzer” I think was super special,” said AGT Digital Producer Nick Berry.
Goodall’s buzzer-winning performance has been seen by millions on social media platforms. It’s something Berry said does happen, but not often.
“You know Richard’s popularity exploding online and from the show
is definitely rare. We have viral hits every now and then, but for the
level he received was huge and the fact the song he covered,
you know Journey, they actually shared his post and collabed with us on
Instagram and our social platforms and got behind him as well, and were
super excited about his progress. It just shows from a small town
like Terre Haute you can make it big on AGT stage,” added Berry.
WTWO and several others are hosting a send-off party for Goodall at the Vigo County Fairgrounds this Saturday, August 3 at noon. The public is invited to attend.
