FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– The community is mourning the loss of a local couple.
Last Saturday afternoon, Kenny and Devona Ming died as a result of a motorcycle accident. Wednesday night, dozens of bikers, first responders, and members of the community gathered in their honor as their remains were transported to a funeral home.
To remember the couple a Garrison Flag was flown above U.S. 41. A Garrison Flag is the largest size national flag used by the U.S. Army and flown on special occasions.
The funeral visitation will be on July 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the service following. It will be held at Dugger Union High School.
Longtime friend of the couple Brian Ketterer said they’ve been friends since 1998.
“As the saying goes Kenny and I stomped a lot of the same mud back in the day. I worked with him at Knox County EMS back in the day, at Sullivan County Ambulance, at Sullivan City Fire. We fought fires together. I just spoke to him a week prior at United Life Care where he was currently working. Saw him and Devona at the store, we chatted a lot. It’s still a little unreal at this point.”
There will also be a dinner following the service at the Dugger American Legion post that is open to the public.
