TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A major business series made a stop in Terre Haute at the Hulman Center.
The Engage Indiana Series made Terre Haute one of their nine stops across the state. The series aims to engage different regions across Indiana on important issues facing the economy and the community. Inside Indiana Business host Gerry Dick says that there has been serious momentum in Terre Haute.
“The new casino,” Dick said. “There’s a new mayor, a new president of Indiana State University so a lot of new things that are going on here, looking at riverfront development and re-development along the Wabash, so a lot of things that are happening here that are pointing to a renewed spirit I think in the future, and what Terre Haute is and what it can be going forward.”
The series is a team effort to improve businesses and economics in the state. Indiana Secretary of Commerce David Rosenberg says that the regional visits lead to countless connections in the workforce.
“Well you have that regional approach, there’s a lot of similarities that run across the regions,” Rosenberg said. “Whether it be housing, or childcare, or trails and connectivity, there’s things that regions who may be further along on one of those three, and we take those ideas, share them with other regions. We don’t have to re-invent the wheel because we are all going after the same goal. How do we make Indiana the best place to live and work.”
The next event in the series will be August 7 in Elkhart.
