FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Road rage incidents leading to shootings have been up in numbers lately across the state of Indiana.
These are situations that come from people driving too aggressively, following too close behind someone, or failing to use turn signals. The Indiana State Police says that just by getting involved and aiming a weapon towards someone is a felony. If a situation does occur, call 911 and do not leave your vehicle.
“If someone gets out of the vehicle and they approach your vehicle, don’t roll the window down,” Sergeant Matt Ames said. “Make sure your doors are locked, your windows are up, and honk your horn so you can draw attention from other people.”
Ames also adds that the best way to avoid road rage is to be mentally prepared and calm before driving.
