TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Firefighters were able to contain a fire to two vehicles in Terre Haute on Monday.
According to Terre Haute Battalion Chief Scott Dalton, Firefighters were dispatched to the area of 1st Street and Helen Avenue at 3:30 p.m. for a report of black smoke in the area.
When firefighters arrived they found that an RV was on fire, and had caught a nearby van on fire as well. Dalton said the fire was damage was contained to the two vehicles and that crews were able to quickly extinguish the flames.
No one was injured in the incident, Dalton said there were some cats that were close by that were kept out of the danger by the quick work of fire crews.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, when asked if the fire was suspicious at all, Dalton said it was still to early to speculate at the time.
