TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Happy hour is back in Indiana after more than 30 years.
The new law went into effect on July 1. Many local businesses and restaurants will now be able to set drink deals for a specific time. Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce director of community engagement Josh Alsip says the law will provide a great boost to downtown life as well.
“I think that this happy hour law ties in with our strategy of boosting our businesses, our bars, and our restaurants downtown,” Alsip said. “Getting people to come downtown and kind of having that whole encompassing experience so that you get your drink, you are able to go to a few events outside and experience it all together.”
Alsip added that many local restaurants are excited to see what the new law will look like.
