PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — An Indiana man has been arrested and charged with child solicitation after reportedly being in contact with the online group Predator Hunters Indiana.
According to Parke County Sheriff Jason Frazier, the group contacted his office on June 30, with evidence collected of their interaction with a local man.
Sheriff Frazier said deputies investigated the claim, which led to the arrest of 61-year-old James H. Smith.
Court records show that Smith has been charged with a level 5 felony of child solicitation, and a level 6 felony of dissemination of matter harmful to minors.
Smith appeared Monday morning for an initial hearing in Parke Circuit Court. Judge Samuel A. Swaim set Smith’s bond at $15,000 with 10% allowed.
Smith is next due in court for a pretrial hearing on September 5.
