TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Police in the city of Terre Haute are investigating a reported stabbing incident.
According to Terre Haute Police Public Information Officer Sgt. Justin Sears, police were dispatched to the 1600 block of 1st Avenue at 1 a.m. Wednesday for a reported stabbing.
Sgt. Sears said police provided immediate medical assistance to the victim when arriving on scene including the use of a tourniquet.
Investigators determined that a fight had occurred between two males that escalated when one male pulled out a knife and cut the other.
Police have not confirmed if anyone has been arrested as a result of the investigation.
“THPD Detectives are currently investigating the incident and information will be released as permitted,” Sears said. “There is no perceived threat to the community at this time.”
