WASHINGTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– Our Community Foundation has once again awarded $750 through their Fast Grant Program.
Our Community Foundation awarded their grant to Senior and Family Services (SAFS) for emergency roof repair. Jodi Rook, Co-director of SAFS, said that the grant money had came just in time. According to Rook the kitchen used for their Congregate Meals and Meals on Wheels programs started suffering leaks due to the heavy rains experienced this Spring.
“…Since our Congregate Meals and Meals on Wheels program serves 115 to 120 lunches out of the kitchen every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We want to keep it in good working order so there are no interruptions for those we serve,” Rook said.
SAFS was started in 1973 to provide services, programs, and activities to older adults and individuals with disabilities in the Washington area. SAFS is a non-profit partnered with Generations Area 13 Agency on Aging and is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.
