BRAZIL, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Kids got up close and learned about animals free of charge.
The Silly Safari brought bearded dragons, rabbits, and much more to dozens of people at the library. They learned about the critters and their eating habits, which director Sarah Trover says is only the beginning of the summer fun.
“I think it’s a great opportunity to be able to really connect the community and be able to really find something fun to do that’s free,” Trover said. “We do our summer reading program and it really has two components. There’s reading and tracking your reading and earning prizes, but there’s also programming every week. Every week during the summer on Wednesdays at 1:30, we’ll have different programs like this one.”
Over 100 people attended the show, and Trover says the Silly Safari is a great way to keep the adventure theme of reading.
“Our theme for some reading is adventure,” Trover said. “There’s so many different ways to be able to work with that theme, so I think being able to really do the exotic animals and being able to work with Silly Safari, we’ve worked with them before and they do such a great job. We have over 100 people in our room right now getting ready for it so it should be really great.”
