KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood.
The Knox County Health Department and Versiti Blood Center of America are teaming up to host a community blood drive on Thursday June 27 from 9-11 a.m. at the Bierhaus Building at 328 N. 2nd Street in Vincennes.

Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes gets their blood from Versiti, which has reportedly been providing blood for hospitals since 1952.
Health Department officials encourage anyone 17 or older and in good health who haven’t donated blood in the past 8 weeks to sign up to donate. All blood types are needed.
“If you have been deferred in the past it is usually for a temporary issue such as low blood pressure or low iron level,” a Health Department news release reads. “Deferred is not deterred! You can try again to donate!”
To make an appointment, scan the QR code above, or visit the Versiti website here.
