BRAZIL, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The FBC Christian Youth Campground broke ground on the construction of a new chapel.
The building will mark the end of a long-term development plan for the campground. There was a ceremony and food to celebrate the occasion. The seed money came from a donation, but the construction will move at the pace that more money comes in.
The campground has come a long way from nothing 25-plus years ago. Board of directors secretary Don Donovan says it should be completed within the calendar year.
“We’ve got to the point where we have 10 cabins, two shower houses, and the dining hall, and all we need is the chapel,” he said. “The chapel is the last project that we need to work on and we are having the ground breaking for it today. Hopefully over the next few months we will be able to get it up and get it constructed.”
