TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The biggest pickleball tournament Terre Haute has seen will be played in the city this weekend.
Rally in the Valley takes place Saturday and Sunday at Brittlebank Park.
Registration has already closed, but over 200 players from multiple states have signed up to play.
Tournament organizer Jon Bradbury says the big turnout is no surprise.
“Terre Haute has been a leader in pickleball for a long time,” Bradbury said. “Pickleball has been around in Terre Haute for more than 10 years and just over the last three, four, five years, pickleball has exploded across the country and throughout the world, and it’s the fastest growing sport in America.”
Each division, which ranges from beginner level to elite level, will be playing for prize money.
