TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– The Terre Haute Police Department announced on Sunday it has arrested a man in connection to a bank robbery earlier this month.
Rodney D. Brock, of Maywood, Illinois, has been charged with armed robbery following an incident at The Hometown Savings Bank on April 12th, police wrote. A release from THPD states that, through surveillance footage, it determined the suspect fled in a vehicle located at S. 7th and Walnut Streets that had fake and fictitious plates that expired over 10 years ago.
Through collaboration with Chicago-area agencies, as well as the FBI, authorities developed leads and a possible connection to a bank robbery in New Albany, Indiana on April 19th, police said.
On Friday, THPD Detectives contacted the FBI with a possible location for Brock in northern Illinois, and the FBI was able to locate Brock and take him into custody without incident. He is currently being held at the Vigo County Jail.
Police also said they will continue to assist other agencies with information from this investigation to aid in solving crimes Brock might have been involved in outside of Terre Haute.
