VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Vincennes city engineer John Sprague said they are making good progress on stage one of the $6,600,000 Washington Ave. project.
This stage ranges from Emerson Ave. to Belle Crossing. Sprague said that this area, one of the oldest roads in the area, demanded lots of renovations and updates to meet modern-day standards including new sidewalks and proper lighting.
He said that he hopes these upgrades help continue the growth in this area.
“We are hoping these improvements improve not only the quality of life with Gregg Park but go with the lighting and pedestrian walkways as well to improve that part of town, big time,” he said.
Sprague added that the plan is to have phase one of this project completed by this fall. Phase two is currently in development and scheduled to begin in 2027.
