UPDATE: Clay County Sheriff Brison Swearingen confirmed one person is dead following a shooting Friday evening in Brazil.
Swearingen said that 29-year-old Andrew T. Bethel, of Brazil, was pronounced dead at the at the scene after an incident occurred just before 7:30 p.m. on Nellie Lane, just outside of Brazil.
Preliminary information indicates this is an isolated incident, with no threat to the public. Swearingen said the investigation remains ongoing.
BRAZIL, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– Police taped off an area of N. Nellis Lane for several hours on Friday evening.
A WTWO reporter observed Clay County Sheriff Deputies collecting evidence near a home in the 8600 block of the street, which is near Forest Park. A deputy on the scene said the incident is under investigation, and no details were available.
