TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — On Wednesday, The Wabash Valley Community Foundation donated $166,000 to 10 local non-profit organizations.
One of the groups that received these funds was the Terre Haute Boys and Girls Club. They received $25,000 towards new furniture and equipment for their remodeling project at their learning lab.
CEO Bobby Moore said that this donation directly helps with their organization’s mission.
“The club has been around for a long time and our job is to enable all of the kids that need it the most and with that donation, that is what we are able to do,” he said.
Another group that received funding was Friends of Rea Park Inc. They received $50,000 that they plan to use of the foundation of the building in their efforts to restore the historic Rea Park clubhouse.
President of Friends of Rea Park, Mike Harding said that he couldn’t be happier with how much the community has backed this project.
“It’s turned out better than it ever has and would like to thank the community for all of their support as it is going to be wonderful when we open the doors,” he said. “I can’t wait to walk through the doors when it does open.”
Both Moore and Harding added that they are very glad to other non-profits in the area get the boost they deserve.
