TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A celebration was held on Friday at Indiana State University to recognize a big contribution that was made to the university.
In 2022, Steve and Gloria Bailey donated 8 million dollars to ISU. The gift helped create scholarships, faculty fellowships, and a dean’s fund to attract students and faculty.
The Bailey College of Engineering and Technology was named after the couple. On Friday, the couple got to meet some Bailey Scholars and hear about renovation plans for the college.

“We had the opportunity to meet several of the Bailey Scholars this morning and had a great interaction with them. It was really exciting to meet them, hear about their majors, where they’re from, what their goals are, what their challenges are,” Steve Bailey said.
“The scholars send us letters and tell us how they’re doing, and it’s just really exciting,” Gloria Bailey said.
