TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The submissions for the flag designs will be open for residents to vote on this week.
Ethan Page is the head of the Terre Haute Flag Community and he said that the flag submission process concluded on April 14. Following that day, the committee went through 63 designs from 37 artists.
After this process, Page said the committee narrowed it down to 5 entries. Page also said there were a lot of great submissions, all coming from past, previous or current Terre Haute citizens.
“It’s really awesome to see that really come from within, and I’m really excited for our community to not only create the flag that’s going to represent us but now we as a community get to vote on it too and have our voices heard so I think this is a huge win for Terre Haute I think it’s a huge win for the people of Terre Haute,” Page said.
Page said the voting process goes live, and people can join in on the Terre Haute Flag Project website on April 17 and each person is allowed to cast one vote.
The voting period is open until May 5.
