TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Monday a local college announced a project it says will help meet a need for athletic and student recreation services.
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology is planning an expansion to its Sports and Recreation Center.
The $5,000,000 project will be an addition to the east end of the building. It will overlook the outdoor Cook Stadium and include two floors.
The expansion will create space for seven offices and a locker room, a bigger storage area, and a recruiting room for the athletics department.
RHIT officials said there will also be a large room that can be used for group meetings or recreational and fitness activities.
Construction is expected to begin this summer. RHIT anticipates the expansion to be complete by the spring of 2025.
