LINTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– The Linton-Stockton School Board officially selected its new superintendent on Monday.
Tim Grove will take over the position once Dr. Kathy Goad goes into retirement this summer. Grove served as the superintendent in South Knox for 11 years, and has worked as a principal in North Knox this school year.
Grove outlined the reasons he wanted to pursue this opening following the meeting.
“It has strong community support,” he said. “Not only for their athletics, which are legendary, but also academically. I’m fortunate enough, living in the area, that I can see the different things and the personnel, and I’ve taken classes with a lot of the administrator who have been here. I’ve been able to see that and I think they do things the right way.”
He said he expects to spend the next few months working closely alongside Goad to ease the transition. Grove also believes his previous experience will help him hit the ground running once he takes over.
Goad’s last day as superintendent will be June 30th.
