BRAZIL, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Air Evac began offering services in Brazil over 20 years ago. They have always had a special place in the heart of one local resident.
Caleb Moore was a senior in high school at this time in 2004, but that almost came to an end in a car accident on the way to school. In a remarkable turn of fate, he became the first survivor that this Air Evac unit responded to. Moore was grateful to spend the day showing gratitude with his family.
“It means the world,” he said. “I’ve got three kids now and it’s cool for them to come see the helicopter that saved daddy.”
After his recovery, it was time for Moore to return to school. He remembers the staff going the extra mile on his special day.
“The first day of school they flew me back in, landed in between North Clay and Northview and dropped me off for my first day back,” he said.
People were able to come and see the inside of the helicopter as well as meet the crew and ask them questions about daily operations.
Caleb continues to share his story with the community and hopes that people realize the importance of having this Air Evac unit in Brazil.
