TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Terre Haute Parks Department will be hosting events on Monday during the area’s total solar eclipse.
Kilie Smith with the Parks Department joined David and Jen Wednesday morning on WTWO 6:30 Today to talk about the plans and how you can participate. You can see the full interview at the top of the page.
Events will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Maple Avenue Nature Park at 500 Maple Avenue, Fairbanks Park at 1100 Girl Scout Lane, and Dobbs Park at 5170 Poplar Drive.
Each site will offer free eclipse viewing glasses (while supplies last). There will also be demonstrations and eclipse-related activities and crafts, concessions and more.
In a statement, the Parks Department said, “Parking will be available within all City Parks on a first come, first serve basis. We expect a large crowd, and we encourage everyone to be patient and drive safely.”
