TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — There is a lot of excitement among ISU fans for tonight’s NCAA National Invitation Tournament semifinal basketball game.
We spoke with several Indiana State University students Tuesday on campus to hear their thoughts ahead of the matchup against the Utes of Utah.
“I think they’ve done a lot for the city of Terre Haute, and Indiana State University,” ISU Senior Ashley Francis said. “Especially this season and this NIT Tournament has brought a lot of people into Terre Haute and I think it’s been good for local businesses around here.”
“It’s really enhanced like, student engagement on campus,” ISU Senior Julio Rosales said. “I just love that environment, just being around the community that’s what it feels like right now, so that’s what I’m excited for.”
The school is holding a watch party for students on campus.
Freshman Janiyah Jones says she’ll be watching the game, and is proud to be a Sycamore.
“I come from a school where we have really competitive basketball, so I’m kind of used to it, but being in college is different because I go here, and they’re regular students too, so it’s amazing to see them doing big things like this,” Jones said. “I feel like we’re going to win! GO SYCAMORES!” Jones added.
Tip off for the game is at 7 p.m. (EDT) the game can be viewed on ESPN or ESPN+.
