FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A candidate seeking the Republican nomination for Indiana State Representative in District 45 shared his goals if elected.
As recently reported, former state representative Jeff Ellington is running in the Indiana Republican Primary.
Ellington will face candidate Kellie Streeter and incumbent Bruce Borders in the State Representative District 45 primary race.
If Ellington advances to November and is elected to the state legislature, he noted an issue he wants to tackle is the state’s gas tax.
“Index the price of fuel and gas on the state’s webpage, on the front page, so you know everyday what that gas tax (is) and what it costs you,” Ellington explained. “Second, I’ll try to get passed a bill that will index and stop increases in gas tax when the oil is volatile and the gas per gallon goes up.”
District 45 represents all of Greene and Sullivan Counties, and a portion of Daviess, Knox and Vigo Counties.
Indiana’s primary election day is on may 7.
