TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Terre Haute is beginning to come together as officials encourage groups to register their floats/vehicles for the festivities.
The parade will be held on March 16, starting at 1 p.m.
The route for this year’s parade is as follows; “the parade will begin at 1:00 p.m. at
30th Street and Ohio Boulevard. It will travel west on Ohio Boulevard to 19th Street and
turn south onto 19th Street.”
A number of awards will be given out to various parade participants including;
- Honorary Leprechaun—Given to our Honorary Mayor
- Silly Shamrock—Given to a St. Patrick School individual, group, or classroom entry exhibiting the most extreme Irish school spirit known in St. Pat’s history
- Grand Clan—Given to the most outstanding family entry that marches together proudly displaying their “clan” banner and Irish pride
- Eireann Go Braugh—Given to an individual who marches in the parade exuberating the most indisputable “Forever Ireland” devotion
- Hooley Gang—Given to the most outstanding group entry that flaunts their most merry, boisterous love of the Irish and “wearin’ of the green”
